WANTED RESPECT……., NOT SYMPATHY!
Education of each individual according to his or her ability is required for the development of the society. Various institutes take themselves the gigantic task of catering to the needs of specially challenged children.
We, the students of S.P.M. English School, had the privilege of interacting with students and faculty of Dilasa, which operates to train and educate the mentally challenged students under the tutelage of SEVASADAN institute. On visiting the school, Dilasa, on 7th Feb, we were moved to see the high levels of optimism in the students.

There are classroom lessons as well as various activities such as agricultural training, making cardboard boxes, files and bowls. The children are so gritty and positive that they feel confident that nothing is out of their reach.
Different activities are carried out for the all round development of the students.

Touching our hearts, the special students expressed their emotions and sentiments in the most innovative ways which amazed us.
In this 21st century, we have opted technology as our God but these innocent minds have made all together a new magical world away from the hectic and stressful schedule of this techno-savvy man.
They have the abilities to compete with us but we don’t allow them to come into limelight. Sometimes, because of their different physical appearance the society considers them inferior or the feeling of sympathy arouses. But they don’t want sympathy, what they expect is amicable feeling towards them.

“Children with their innocence &simple faith can sometimes be most profound teachers’’.
As rightly said these students with their brimming positive energy teach us the values of simple, faith ,innocence &sincerity .During  our journey to draw attention on this strata of our society, it  proved to be an educative tour for us. It convinced us to put forward our friendly acceptance to them.
We appeal you all as a part of responsible society to join hands and welcome them as a part of our family. They are capable to excel in their vocations although with limitations, just our adorable support is what they are looking forward to.
It is time of new dawn; give them a ray of hope, to help them reach the zenith. Let us do it !

  4. Firstly I congratulate the students for choosing such a challenging project and of course the teachers and parents who actively guided them. Children I can definitely see that you have urge to unite society known as "INDIA".

You have taught us to see this intentionally ignored part of our society with a sense, a sense to relise that they are no different. Your blog is an eye-opener for all. Your efforts show that you have a pinch for wrong of the society's elderly members like us. That's why I foresee that you have not selected this project only to secure better acedamic grades and I hope and trust that you children would definitely not stop your task by only publishing your project.

We assure you all our participation, direct or indirect, in your endeavour to award these special children get their due respect.
